Kean is a wide Youth society that fights for human values as these have been established since ancient Greece till today; values like Peace, Quality of life, prosperity and Environmental protection.

Kean is fighting for Democracy, for the consolidation of the Youth Rights for Employment, for Environmental protection, for Social Deliberation in the frame of a modern democratic and pluralistic society based on everlasting value.

We enforce the initiatives for the preservation and appointment of our civilization heritage, the new civilization development as well as for the today joint and personal creativeness.

We support the social minorities and the weak parts of the population, in their fights against the social discrimination, the racism and violence.

ΚΕΑΝ has partnership with many similar international societies and clubs that are being inspired by the same values and targets.  

KEAN has offices in ten major cities. The head office is in Athens but we also have branches in Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Kalamata, Sparti, Chios, Rhodos, Kerkyra, Serres, Alexandroupolis and Madrid(Spain). 

The members and friends of KEAN sum up to 2000.

Our site www.kean.gr  is visited by at least 210 different visitors per day with approximately 5300 hits per day.We also publish an informative newspaper in West Attica of 10.000 copies.

Athens 8-03-2006: On the International day of Water (21-03-2006), KEAN is organising a Talk Event together with the students of the 10th High School of Ilion. The public conversation will concern the handling of water resources. The Event will be openned by the president of KEAN, Mr St. Millionis and Mr K. Logarias (President of HYDRO)

Foundation of KEAN of Epirus (North- West Greece)

FUTURE CITY - NEW TECH
Athens, 25-02-06: Kean and ISTAME are going to present on 27th of March 2006, at the Benaki Museum (Peireos Str.) a Conference having as a subject the New Technologies. The main participant will be Dr M. Bletsas, executive of the Information Laboratoty of the Media Lab of the Un. of MIT. Dr Bletsas will present the HDL, the Laptop of 100$. Another important participant will be Mr James Skinner, who will present an innovative environmental Railway, this is already working as a pilot project in some European Cities.

Athens, 7-2-2006: KEAN showed a counter reaction against the attempt of the European Union Committee to confirm a Directive with the title :"Need to convict the crimes of the Communistim". The KEAN's board of directors member Aris Bregiannis expresses his support against this European Action.

KEAN cut the NEW YEAR'S EVE cake

Athens 5-2-2006: There was a tramendous paticip ation in the party of KEAN on Saturday the 4 of February, at Café "En Ilio" at the center of Ilion city.
More than 400 friends and members of KEAN passed by  to wish to KEAN happy new year (a greek custom). The president of KEAN Stavros Milionis was refered to the secret recipe of success, which for a non governmential society is the participation of people. This participation certifies the future and the progress in all sections. The coin, which according to the custom is inserted in the cake, was drawn to the piece dedicated to Ilion.

FUTURECITY

ATHENS,22-11-2005:

Yesterday took place at Marousi Municipal, the first workshop of a session titled "Future City", which is organised by KEAN. This is going to be an open dialogue and a public conversationl, targetting 1) to examine the transformation and progress of the Municipal government, so as to an authority and responsibilities decentralisation 2) to present successful insidents of other European cities which have already applied the previews political strategy on their cities, with positive results.

KEAN like a VIRUS

Αthens,13-0-2005:The fullness of time has arrived, KEAN is today recognised and has a good reputation. This can be proved by the many internet site visits and by the mass membership. More than 400 people have become members of KEAN (without any fee) and are participating in our events. KEAN space in Ilion is not enough any more, so KEAN branches are going to be founded in the next days on the islands Chios and Rhodes as well as in Messinia at Kalamata.

These new branches are the outcome of a big effort of young active scientists of the local societies, everyone with a stable ground in its hometown.

KEAN decided to broaden its activities not only out of the Athenian boarders but also out of Greece. KEAN of Spain is already a fact and its members really celebrated this! 

We wish good luck to all these new kernels and we are open to every such attempt!!!!

VIRTUAL ATIQUITY

Athens,13-10-2005:Greek scientists developed a virtual reality system in order to simulate the scenery, the temples and the every day life of ancient Greece. The user wears special glasses, which help him to see monuments restored and scenes from ancient Greek every day life. This program has been implemented in Ancient Olympia and a similar system developed by another team is up and running in Ancient Pompeii in Italy. [SOURCE: newspaper Nea of 10-10-05)

The citizens of Kamatero are undertaking to “solve their problems by their selves”

Kamatero, 29-09-05: KEAN and of active citizens of Kamatero undertake the initiative to collec signatures so as to hand them in the state representatives. Their target is to protect the only free space that have been left at the neighbourhood rounded by the streets of St. Marina, Neochorion, Margarition and Agrafon

Big success at the event organised by KEAN. The event had the title : “No compromise of young people in love and politics”

Ilion,27-9-2005:

On 26 September took place a big event organised by KEAN, presented by an innovative and simultaneously historical (from the French revolution) title: “No compromise of young people in love and politics”. The concert took place at the big park of “Environmental Sensitivity” in Ilion.

The big crowd (over than 1000 people) applauded the famous new singer of Greece Manos Pyrovolakis and his band, as well as the Moroccan band “O” Maracces, which came from Marocco  only for the KEAN event.

Counter Racism campaign of KEAN during the International Exhibition of Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki,18-9-2005: A common counter racism  for the absolute condemnation of the racial Festival of Hate, that has been organised to take place in Greece, realised yesterday several non governmental organisations and societies. The campaign was triggered by the organised Festival of Hate but it will be continued the entire year, in order to motivate people against this kind of Hate activities.  KEAN is also participating.

A matter of time the implementation of the Program “Hermes” in Ilion

Ilion,13-9-2005:The first station that measures the electromagnetic field radiated by the area antennas, is going to be installed within this month. Hermes is a program funded by Vodafone and it is implemented with the cooperation of National Technical University of Athens, having as a target to inform the citizens of every city what is the level of radiation of the antennas of their town. The results of these measurements are illustrated in Internet.

We remind that the initiative belongs to KEAN and its president Mr Stavros Milionis, who had organised a relevant workshop and informed people as well as the Ilion municipal committee. Mr Stavros Milionis managed to convince all of the parts that this will be an added value for the city of Ilion and thus today Ilion is a member of the privileged cities, members of Hermes program.
