KEAN and ERGOEREVNITIKI organized a meeting on Saturday 22 of March in the cultural centre of H.A Karystias and Skyrou in Kymi on the subject: 

PROTECTION AND UPGRADE OF NATURAL ENVIRONMENT – CLIMATIC CHANGES 

The meeting was organized on the occasion of the continuing devalorisation of natural environment that affects to a great degree the region of Euvoia.

In the meeting the subjects that were offended was the combustion of RDF, of anthracite units and of potential arrival of Larco in Kymi and Xiliadou.

The President of ERGOEREVNITIKI, Giorgos Koulouris opening the work of the meeting declared: “Our choices should have as a basic orientation health and human.”

The President of KEAN, Stavros Milionis talked about the need of citizens’ attendance in the decisions that will mark their future as well as their children’s future and stressed that the problem of Larco and Anthracite should be faced as a political subject and not as a nomicistic affair.

ERGOEREVNITIKI and KEAN on the fringe of the meeting, announced competition of photographs and video on the subject: “Beauty is obvious-Kymi and natural environment.”

The Tamineon mayor Karapa Katerina and the mayor of Aulonas Katsoulis Dimitris  participated in the event as well as:

An association representative of forest protection  in Kymi, a representative of environmental association of Drys Aliveri and representatives of local institutions

assisted in the discussion.

The afternoon part of the meeting was organized into the first municipal school of Kymi, where children presented skets and poems about the Environmental Protection and the Recycling.
