Planetbook participates at the 6th Annual Street Games in New York!
Get on board...and Save the Planet!
On Saturday, April 27, 2013, 11am-3pm, the floor version of environmental educational activity Planetbook will participate at the 6th Annual Street Games hosted by NYC Parks and the Walt Disney Company at Thomas Jefferson Park in Harlem!
Street Games celebrates the classic street games from the ’60s and ’70s and introduces them to a new generation of kids with a modern spin! Pogo sticks, double-dutch, hula hoops, and yo-yos are just some of the activities that families and children can try out at this popular annual event. With new activities being added each year, there is something for everyone to enjoy!
Street Games is also more than just games! Radio Disney will be spinning music all day and there will be live music and entertainment, including several performances by the Dance Theater of Harlem!
Planetbook is the first educational board game about the environment and climate changes which is also presented in floor version (36 square meters) and in application for android mobile phones and i-Phones. Planetbook was created by Greek NGO KEAN (Cell of Alternative Youth Activities), associated with the UN Department of Public Information Non-Governmental Organisations. It contains 700 questions of encyclopaedic knowledge about the environmental issues of our planet, the NGO’s for its protection and Nature’s four basic elements (Earth, Air, Water and Fire). Planetbook has been distributed to over 700 schools in Greece and over 26,000 students have been advised. Some of the NGO’s that participate in the U.S. version are Earth Day Network, Trees for the Future, Connect 4 Climate- World Bank, Worldwatch Institute Europe, Tree People. Ecologists in Action, Student Environmental Action Coalition.
